Police seek missing 13-year-old girl in New Orleans

FOX 8 received this news release from the New Orleans Police Dept. Tuesday night:

Police are asking for the public's assistance in locating 13-year-old Daja Blount who was last seen by her guardian yesterday at approximately 12:15 P.M., leaving her house in the 8800 block of Curran Road with her mother to go to a store.   

The guardian advised that she became concerned when she was unable to contact Daja Blount or her mother and has not seen or heard from them since. 

Daja Blount is described as a 13-year-old African-American female with a black braided hair style.  She was last seen wearing a yellow hoodie and black and white poke a dot pajama pants with monkey prints.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Daja Blount is asked to call 821-2222.
