Reward increased in high stakes car burglary

Gretna, La. - The reward has been increased in a car burglary in which the thieves got away with more than $100,000 in cash.  The theft happened February 11th in a parking lot in the 500 block of Gretna Blvd.  Detectives are looking for two men who apparently followed the victim throughout the metro area, waiting for an opportunity to break into the vehicle.  Once in the parking lot on Gretna Blvd.,  the driver left the car around noon.  That's when  the two suspects shattered the driver's side rear door to gain entry.

Detectives say they got away with more than $100,000 in cash and fled in a 2001-2003 Dodge Caravan, possibly blue in color.  They describe the first suspect as a white man in his 50's or 60's, 170 to 180 pounds with gray hair.  The second suspect is a white man, approximately 30 years old, 5'6" to 5'8" with dark hair.

Crimestoppers has increased the reward in this case to $5,000 for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the pair.  If you have any information, you're asked to call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.
