Bayou Corne, La. - Works crews attempting to stabilize that massive sinkhole in Assumption Parish hope to get back to work Monday.

New tremors and movement underground forced crews to stop work around Bayou Corne earlier this week.

Engineers say the hole appears to be filling itself with surrounding soil. They've come to that conclusion because earlier this week the hole was more than 400 feet deep. Now, the hole is about 150 feet deep.

Homeowners who have evacuated the area are in the middle of buyout talks with Texas Brine Company, the salt cavern operator blamed for the problem.
