Dardenne to keynote history conference


HAMMOND, La. (AP) - Lt. Gov. Jay Dardenne will be the keynote speaker April 9 for the annual meeting of the Southeast Louisiana Historical Association.

The gathering will be held at the Hammond Regional Arts Center in the city's downtown area and starts at 5:30 p.m.

Tickets for Dardenne's dinner presentation are $15.

The association is made up of academic professionals and history buffs who study the history of southeast Louisiana, said Samuel Hyde Jr.,  director of the Center for Southeast Louisiana Studies at Southeastern Louisiana University.
