New Orleans, La - The Hornets got a rock solid performance from Greivis Vasquez Sunday night, handling the Cleveland Cavaliers 112-92 at the New Orleans Arena. Vasquez scored 25 points and doled out 9 assists along the way. The 26-48 Bees finished their 7-game homestand 4-3, handling the likes of Boston, Memphis and Denver along the way...playoff teams, all.
Anthony Davis chipped in 17 points in the winning effort, expanding a 49-48 halftime lead with a 36 point 3rd quarter.
Hornets head coach Monty Williams said, "You try to take it one game at a time. And, that's been our approach. Tonight, we got a better second half than we did in the first, even though it was a one point game at halftime. We hadn't played any kind of basketball that resembled what we had done at practice. We had twelve turnovers at half, and that was a big deal for us."
The Hornets have two days off before beginning a five game road trip Wednesday in Oakland, California against the Golden State Warriors.
