FRANKLINTON, La. (AP) - State police say a 54-year-old Bogalusa man was killed when he was thrown from his sport utility vehicle after it crashed into an embankment.
Trooper First Class Nick Manale says Sidney Sumrall was not wearing a seat belt when the accident occurred about 10:30 p.m. Saturday in Washington Parish, about six miles north of Franklinton.
Manale says Sumrall was westbound on La. Highway 436 when his vehicle drifted off the road, hit an embankment and overturned. Sumrall was pronounced dead at the scene.
