Masked gunmen rob Algiers gas station

FOX 8 received this news release from the New Orleans Police Dept. Tuesday afternoon:

Detectives are asking the public's assistance in identifying a pair wanted for armed robbery which occurred at an Algiers gas station located in the 3000 block of General Degaulle.

On Monday April 1, 2013 at around 9pm, the masked suspects abruptly walked into the store and yelled to the store clerk "where is the money, Give me the money!" One of the suspects ran around the counter and demanded the clerk to open the register while the other masked suspect remained in front possibly being a look out. The clerk fearing for his safety handed over $1200 in cash. Both suspects fled the store on foot in an unknown direction. The incident was captured on the store's video surveillance camera. 

Perpetrator#1 is described as an African American male wearing a blue hoodie and a surgical mask covering his mouth. Suspect# 2 is described as an African American male wearing a blue hoodie and a surgical mask. The victim could not give an accurate description of the suspects because he turned his back to them fearing for his life.

Fourth District Detective Jeffery Wellborn is in charge of the investigation.
