Judge allows Broussard to report to prison later


New Orleans, La. -Former Jefferson Parish President Aaron Broussard won't need to report to prison next week.

A Federal Court judge has granted Broussard's request to give him more time before reporting to prison.

Broussard submitted the request on grounds the Bureau of Prisons had yet to designate the facility where he will carry out his sentence.

Now, Broussard must report by may 6th.

Broussard faces 46 months for pleading guilty to creating a paralegal supervisor position for his then wife, Karen Parker who wasn't qualified for the job.

He also admitted to accepting bribes from a businessman, in exchange for parish work.
