NOPD seeks three suspects in N.O. East robbery


FOX 8 received this news release from the New Orleans Police Dept. Thursday afternoon:

Detectives are asking the public's assistance in identifying a trio wanted for armed robbery which occurred at a New Orleans East gas station located in the 12900 block of Chef Menteur Highway. 

On Monday April 1, 2013 at around 10:03pm, the masked suspects walked into the store and immediately demanded cash from the clerk. One of the suspects brandished a pistol while the other masked suspect remained in front possibly being a look out. The clerk fearing for her safety handed over $300 in cash from the register. The suspects fled the store in possibly an older model brown or black Chevy Caprice in an unknown direction headed towards the Interstate 510. The incident was captured on the store's video surveillance camera.

Suspect#1 is described as an African American male, slim build, wearing a blue hoodie style sweater, dark pants and a surgical mask covering his mouth.

Suspect# 2 is described as an African American male, slim to medium build, wearing a dark blue or black hoodie style sweater with a large white" Super Bowl" emblem written across the front and a surgical mask covering his mouth . This suspect was in possession of a black pistol.

Suspect#3 is described as an African American male, slim to medium build, wearing a dark colored hooded style sweater with a large "Super Bowl" emblem also written across the front. This suspect was wearing a pair of red tennis shoes. 

These suspects might be responsible for similar robberies in the area.

A copy of the video can be picked up at NOPD Headquarters Juvenile Division on the first floor. 

Seventh District Detective Damian Webster is in charge of the investigation.
