No serious injuries after morning school bus accident

New Orleans, La. - The NOPD says there are no serious injuries after a school bus struck a light pole Friday morning.

The accident happened around 7am at the intersection of Orleans Avenue and Claiborne.

Police say the bus driver experienced mechanical failure that caused him to swerve to the left after coming off the Orleans Ave Interstate 10 off ramp causing the bus to halt at a nearby used car lot.

As a precaution, the 25 high school students on board were checked out by EMS and medical professionals on the scene.
