Houma man arrested after shots fired inside his apartment

Houma, La. - Terrebonne Parish deputies arrest a man they say first fired shots inside his apartment then came outside with eight fully loaded handguns and a rifle.

Investigators say deputies were already trying to evacuate the apartment building when 35 year old Daniel Paul Lirette came out of his apartment and fired a round from the rifle at a man and his two children who were walking by.

They weren't hit.

Deputies managed to disarm Lirette and take him into custody.

Investigators took him to the hospital for an evaluation, and when he was released, booked him on three counts of aggravated assault and three counts of illegal discharge of a firearm.

He's being held on $500,000 bond
