Saints sign safety Jim Leonhard

New Orleans, La. - The Saints announced the signing of safety Jim Leonhard to a one year deal Monday.

The versatile eight year veteran spent last season with the Broncos, the fourth team of his career.  In addition to racking up over 400 tackles over his career on defense and special teams, he has returned nearly 100 punts, averaging 9.4 yards per return.  He also has experience returning kickoffs.

According to the NFL Players' Association, the Saints are now $1.84 million dollars under the salary cap.
