Homeless man tased for punching officer

Houma, La. - A Houma Police officer wrestles a homeless man to the ground and tases him after the man allegedly punches him in the face.

Police were called to a truck stop at 10624 East Main Street in Houma early Tuesday morning because of suspected drug activity at the location.

Police found the alleged suspect, Brian J. Guillotte, at a video poker machine. The officer says Guillotte refused to remove his hands from his pockets and told the officer he had a razor blade.

When the officer attempted to pat Guillotte down, he allegedly punched the officer in the face and attempted to run. The officer wrestled Guillotte to the ground and deployed the X26 taser.

Police say they found a small bags of suspected methamphetamine, marijuana and clonazepam in Guillotte's possession.

Guillotte was transported to Leonard Chabert Hospital to be examined and released. Guillotte was charged with resisting an officer by flight, resisting an officer by violence, battery of a police officer, possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine and possession of Clonazepam.

Guillotte also had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear on a domestic abuse battery second offense.

He was transported to the Terrebonne Parish Jail and is awaiting bond.
