Woman arrested in Houma stabbing

Houma, La.- Houma police say the first thing officers saw when they arrived at a home on Dewey Street was a man, covered in blood, struggling to get a knife away from a woman.

Officers say she had stabbed the man several times in his back and near his throat.

Police repeatedly ordered the woman, later identified as Caulette Rollins, to drop the knife. Eventually, she did. Officers immediately took her into custody.

Investigators say Rollins was in a relationship with the 53-year-old injured man, but they were in the process of breaking up.

Investigators booked the woman with attempted second degree murder.

The victim was transported to a medical facility for treatment of his injuries.
