FBI asked to join search for missing Harvey teacher

Terrilynn Monette Terrilynn Monette

New Orleans, La. - A local lawmaker says he's waiting for the FBI to respond to a request to get involved in the search for a missing Harvey teacher.

Representative Austin Badon (D-New Orleans) sent a letter to FBI agents Wednesday, saying federal agents should get involved in the search for Terrilynn Monette because they can use specialized "techniques and experience" in the case.

Monette has not been seen since March 2. She disappeared after driving away from Parlay's bar in Lakeview. She was driving a 2012 black Honda Accord with Louisiana license plate number WUN494.

Local, state and volunteer search crews have focused their search for her around City Park, Bayou St. John and along the lakefront.

Crimestoppers has increased its reward in this case to $20,000.

If you know anything that could help investigators, call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.
