Truck fire shuts down I-10 EB at Williams Blvd.

Updated:

Kenner, La. - A food truck with a trailer caught fire Monday afternoon on I-10 eastbound between Williams Blvd and Loyola.

Kenner fire officials say a ruptured fuel tank was the cause of the fire.

The rupture resulted in 60-100 gallons of spilled diesel fuel on I-10 and all eastbound traffic is blocked at this time beginning at the Loyola Drive Exit. Travelers are being diverted to the Loyola Drive Exit at this time.

The fire is out at this time. Kenner Fire Department, Police Department, and Public Works are on scene. The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development are headed to the scene as well.

Sand will be spread over the fuel spillage that occurred at the site. Kenner Fire Department has advised there are no hazardous materials involved.
