Gunfire in Lower Ninth Ward leaves one man dead


New Orleans, La - Homicide detectives with the New Orleans Police Department are investigating a shooting that left an unidentified 36-year-old man dead. The incident occurred Monday, just before 4:00 p.m. in the 600 block of Tupelo St. The identity of the man will be released after family members have been notified.

Police say that responding officers arrived on the scene to find the man lying the alleyway of an abandoned residence, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
