All clear given after suspicious bag found in CBD

8:20am Update: The NOPD has reopened all streets surrounding the 800 block of Common Street. No explosives were found inside the gym bag.

 

New Orleans police blocked off a section of the Central Business District after discovering an unattended gym bag. Police say they found the suspicious bag in the 800 block of Common Street around 6:30 a.m. 

Common St. From Baronne to St. Charles is closed to traffic.

A police department spokesperson tells us the SWAT team has been notified. Hazardous materials crews are also on the scene.
