Work begins to dismantle iconic Grand Isle water tower

Grand Isle, La. - Work will begin Tuesday, April 30th to dismantle the iconic Grand Isle water tower which has been a part of the island skyline for decades, according to Jefferson Parish Councilman Chris Roberts. 

The tower survived many tornadoes, tropical storms, and hurricanes including Juan, Georges, Cindy, Katrina, Rita, Gustav, Ike, and Isaac.

The water tower has been replaced with a newly engineered more secure structure.
