Civil service reinstates fired NOPD officer

Updated:

New Orleans, La.- A New Orleans police officer who was fired over an incident at Warren Easton High School will be allowed back on the force.

Chadwick Taylor was dismissed in 2011 when he got into a fight with a 16 year old, after responding to reports of a drug deal.

He got fired for allegedly being untruthful about the case and using alleged excessive force.

Tuesday, the civil service commission granted Taylor's appeal, stating in part that there was no reliable evidence.

Six people including a civilian testified in the civil service case.
