NEW ORLEANS (AP) - New Orleans Police Chief Ronal Serpas says a 40-year-old Yellow Cab driver has been arrested in the rape of a woman who said she was assaulted after taking a cab last week from an Uptown neighborhood.

Serpas identified the suspect as Sohail Khan. Police booked him with second-degree kidnapping and simple rape. Bond information and whether he is represented by an attorney was not immediately available.

Serpas says GPS technology was used to help track the driver of the cab. The victim told investigators she was riding in the taxi when Khan allegedly pulled over near her destination and assaulted her.
