NOPD searches for suspect in attempted murder


FOX 8 received this news release from the New Orleans Police Department's Public Information Office early Thursday morning:

Oscar Anthony James, 19 (9-29-93) is wanted for Attempt First Degree Murder, Attempt Armed Robbery and Aggravated Assault.  The incident occurred May 4, 2013 at approximately 9:30 P.M., in the 2900 block of Cambronne Street.  

Oscar James attempted to rob a man and then shot him and fled.       

James is on parole for Possession With The Intent To Distribute Cocaine and Illegal Carrying of a Weapon until 2014.  He was previously arrested for a Concealed Weapon, Crack Possession, Illegal Firearm During a Crime, Resisting a Police Officer, Simple Escape, Battery, Criminal Damage To Property, Trespassing and Possession of Stolen Property.
