New Orleans, La. - Former Saints running back Charles Muncie passed away from a heart attack Tuesday morning.
The Saints selected him in the first round of the 1976 NFL draft with the third overall selection.
In 1979, Muncie ran for almost 1200 yards and scored 11 touchdowns his best season with the black and gold.
The team traded him to San Diego the next year.
In 1989, a court sentenced Muncie to 18 months in jail on drug charges but later he became a mentor for troubled kids.
