New Orleans' Tropical Isle wins trademark infringement lawsuit

New Orleans, La. - You won't find New Orleans' famous Hand Grenades in any other town.

According to our partners at CityBusiness, the owners of Bourbon Street's Tropical Isle have won a trademark infringement lawsuit worth $4 million.

They sued the owners of a New Orleans themed restaurant in Illinois. The restaurant had been selling drinks called Hand Grenades.

Tropical Isle operators trademarked their famous Hand Grenade drink more than 20 years ago.

The owners have signs posted in the French Quarter offering a $250 reward to anyone who reports another restaurant serving any of their trademarked drinks.
