Suspect sought in Covington armed robbery

Covington, La. - The Covington Police Department is searching for a suspect who allegedly attacked a woman as she walked to her car.

A spokesman for the Covington Police Department said it happened Monday afternoon around 5pm.

The victim told police she had just gotten off of work, and had walked to the parking lot across the street from her business.

When she got to the parking lot, an older model white automobile pulled up and a black male got out of the passenger side and walked towards her. As he approached her he began to ask for directions. When he stood next to her he pulled out an electric stun device, and used it to overcome her and take her purse.

He then fled back to the vehicle jumped into the passenger side, and both subjects drove off. Officers asked the victim to provide a description of the driver. However she was so upset she could not provide one.

The man who attacked her is described as a black male in his late teens or early twenties. He has a thin build, medium complexion, and short hair.
