FOX 8 received this news release from the New Orleans Police Dept. Friday afternoon:
Last night Members of the NOPD's Homicide division issued a warrant for the arrest of 18-year-old Glen Emerson, for the role he played in the fatal wounding of 18-year-old Joseph Massenburg, an Illinois resident. Officers found Massenburg shot multiple times in the 1500 block of Eagle Street around 10:40pm, Monday April 01, 2013.
Massenburg had been talking on his mobile phone prior to walking outside of his residence, when witnesses stated moments later Emerson drove up in a white Lexus SUV. The passengers inside of the vehicle opened fire on Massenburg striking him several times. Emerson then drove off with the gunman still inside of the vehicle. EMS Technicians arrived on the scene and transported Massenburg to the hospital where he later died. Detective Robert Barrere was able to develop Emerson as the driver of the SUV through witness involvement.
NOPD still needs the public's assistance in locating the white Lexus SUV Emerson and his accomplices used in the shooting.
Emerson has been previously arrested for Battery, Criminal Trespass, and Reckless Operation of a Vehicle....
Homicide Detective Robert Barrere is in charge of the investigation.
