Hoover, Al. - LSU's bats were again stifled at the SEC tournament but the Tigers' pitching staff only allowed one hit leading to a 3-1 victory over Arkansas.
Saturday was another frustrating day at the plate for Paul Mainieri's lineup but two runs in the top of the sixth inning were all that was necessary. An additional run in the seventh provided insurance against an Arkansas team that was shut down by five different pitchers.
Now the Tigers move on to Sunday's championship game, set for 3:30 p.m. against the tournament's top seed Vanderbilt, which also sports a number one ranking nationally. A win would be LSU's tenth SEC Tournament title and fourth in the past six season.
Senior left-handed pitcher Brent Bonvillain will start.
