Jefferson, La. - A Saints wide receiver lands in jail for DWI after state troopers say he was more than twice the legal limit.
Louisiana state police arrested Joe Morgan early Saturday morning.
They say he was asleep in his car on Earhart near Causeway Boulevard.
Troopers on the scene say he appeared to be impaired when he exited his vehicle and performed poorly on the field sobriety test.
Morgan signed as an undrafted rookie free agent with the Saints in 2011.
The 25-year-old entered this offseason as the team's number three receiver.
Troopers say Morgan's blood alcohol level registered at .218. The legal limit is .08.
Troopers say Morgan also did not have a valid drivers license.
