A satellite technician and former New Orleans police officer who allegedly raped one of his customers in Washington Parish has turned himself in to authorities.

Detectives say 30 year-old Jermaine Lacour of New Orleans went to the home of a Washington Parish woman to install satellite television service. The victim told deputies Lacour exposed himself and sexually assaulted her.

She says during the attack, he became frightened and ran off.

Washington Parish Sheriff Randy Seal warns people to use caution when allowing any service worker into their home and make sure to check the person's credentials to ensure they are in fact employed with the company.

An NOPD spokesperson says that Jermaine Lacour was a former NOPD officer that was dismissed in 2012.
