LSU ace pitcher Aaron Nola threw a complete game shutout, and LSU beat Oklahoma 2-0 in the opening game of their super regional series.
Nola, the SEC pitcher of the year, gave up just two hits, while striking out six batters.
It was a pitcher's duel throughout with LSU finally plating a pair of runs in the eighth. Following a triple by JaCoby Jones off Sooners ace Jonathan Gray, LSU's Tyler Moore doubled in the first run of the game. Then Mark Laird's RBI single made it 2-0.
Nola closed out the game for the win, and LSU is just one more victory from advancing to the college world series.
