Kenner man arrested in marijuana grow operation


Kenner, La. - A Kenner man is behind bars after police say he was growing marijuana plants at his home.

A spokesman for the Kenner Police Department says an anonymous tip was received by the Kenner narcotics section of a grow operation at 127 Milsaps Place.

Detectives, following up on the tip, arrested 33 year-old David Hart.

Detectives searched the residence and located 32 marijuana plants, 18 guns (4-assault rifles), military grade body armor, gas masks, an improvised ammunition handbook, 145 grams of marijuana, and ammunition. 

Hart, who has a felony conviction for assault by drive by shooting, was charged with the crimes of Manufacturing a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Illegal Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of a Firearm while in Possession of a Controlled Dangerous substance, Unlawful Possession of Body Armor, and Illegal Possession of a Firearm by a person convicted of certain felonies. 

Hart remains in custody, no bond has been set.
