Police say Cooter Brown's Tavern & Oyster Bar, a popular establishment in the South Carrollton area of Uptown New Orleans, was targeted by armed robbers early Thursday morning.
FOX 8 received this news release from the New Orleans Police Dept. Thursday afternoon:
At approximately 4:30 am an employee was cleaning the business at St. Charles and South Carrolton when the employee was approached by two armed subjects wearing mask, gloves and hoodies. The gunmen forced the employee to the rear office where a second employee was working. A third employee observed the gunmen and fled the business to a nearby Shell Gas station where he called the police.
The gunmen opened a small safe taking a large sum of cash. The gunmen then fled the business in an unknown direction.
