Authorities arrest man wanted for robbing Hammond bank

New Orleans -- Officers with the Hammond Police Department, along with assistance from the Ponchatoula Police Department, have arrested a 51-year-old man wanted for robbing a Hammond bank. Edmond Nunez of Ponchatoula was taken into custody, late Saturday night, just hours after he robbed a Hammond bank at 11:50 a.m.

According to police, a tip helped authorities identify Nunez. He was taken into custody at his apartment and transported to the Hammond Police Department were he was booked with one count of first-degree robbery. Nunez was then transported to the Tangipahoa Parish Jail.
