Sentencing delayed for former Plaquemines Sheriff

New Orleans, La.- Sentencing for former Plaquemines Parish Sheriff Jiff Hingle has been postponed but just for a week.

Federal Judge Sarah Vance moved the sentencing hearing from this Wednesday to next Wednesday July third at 10:30 in the morning.

Hingle pleaded guilty to federal corruption charges... Following a series of fox 8 investigations.

This is the sixth time Hingle's sentence has been delayed.

In 2011, Hingle admitted to receiving 20-thousand dollars from businessman Aaron Bennett after approving hundreds of thousands in payments to Bennett's company.  

Hingle also pleased guilty to falsifying campaign documents.
