23-year-old man found shot in Gray


New Orleans -- Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Detectives are investigating a shooting that left a 23-year-old man injured. The shooting occurred Saturday at 2:30 p.m. near the intersection of Hwy 316 and West Park Avenue in Gray. The name of the victim has yet to be released.

According to police, officers responded to calls about a fight involving a group of 100 people. As the officers approached the scene, shots rang out and the crowd began to disperse. Officers noticed one man who fell to the ground suffering from a gunshot to the buttocks. The man was rushed to a local hospital where he will undergo surgery and recover from his injury.

Witnesses say that several people at the party began to argue which led to the subjects shooting at each other.
