A source confirms to FOX 8 Sports that the Pelicans and free agent guard Tyreke Evans, late of the Sacramento Kings, have verbally agreed to a multi-year deal.
The deal is believed to be for four years at somewhere between $44 and $48 million.
Evans, by NBA rules, cannot sign a deal until July 10.
The 6-feet-6 Evans was the league's rookie of the year with the Kings in the 2009-2010 season. He scored 15 points and hauled in four boards per game last season while handing out 3.5 assists.
Evans is, however, a restricted free agent... meaning the Kings can still match the Pelicans' offer.
