City issues filming notice for Bywater residents

FOX 8 received this news release from the New Orleans Mayor's Office Wednesday evening:

Today, the Mayor's Office of Cultural Economy issued a filming notice to New Orleans residents and businesses in the Bywater area.

On Friday, July 5th, a production company will be filming scenes at the Naval Support Activity site on Dauphine Street. From approximately 5pm to 5am, filming will involve a small amount of simulated gunfire. Filming will be limited to the Naval Support Activity site.

Film New Orleans assists productions with the City's permitting process, connects productions with local crew and resources, and facilitates communication between productions and the local community.

In 2012, New Orleans hosted 61 tax credit film projects (TV, films and commercials with budgets over $300,000), with direct spending of $669.8 million. In 2011, the City hosted 46 tax credit projects with an estimated $544 million in direct spending.
