TS Chantal forecast to weaken

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) - Tropical Storm Chantal is roaring toward the Dominican Republic and Haiti, where people have been told to evacuate low-lying areas.

The National Hurricane Center in Miami says there's also a tropical storm warning for Puerto Rico, Turks and Caicos and the southeastern Bahamas. Authorities say the storm could bring heavy flooding and possible landslides.

Weakening of Chantal is still forecasted. It looks to be a tropical wave as it approaches south Florida. At that point, it would no longer be a named storm.
