Mid-City hospital construction will close some roads

New Orleans, La. - Drivers should expect lane closures around the Mid-City hospital construction zone in the coming weeks.

Workers will be putting in a waterline tie-in which will require closure of all three lanes of South Claiborne northbound between Cleveland and Tulane Avenues through July 26. Northbound traffic will be shifted to the existing parking lane.

UMC construction will also require that two lanes of Tulane Avenue westbound will be closed between S. Claiborne and S. Galvez for five weeks starting July 17th. The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development says the lanes should reopen by approximately August 21.
