GARYVILLE, La. (AP) - A St. John the Baptist Parish councilman is accused of shooting his 26-year-old son's pickup truck during an argument.
Sixty-one-year-old Ranney Wilson is free on $22,500 bond after being booked with illegal use of a firearm, aggravated criminal damage to property and aggravated assault.
The Times-Picayune reports that Wilson declined to comment on the incident Monday, saying only that the truck will be fixed soon.
According to Sheriff Mike Tregre, Wilson and his son argued Saturday at Wilson's home in Garyville.
He says that when the younger man went outside, Wilson allegedly followed with a handgun and continued the argument. He says Wilson allegedly fired into the unoccupied truck.
