Boil water advisory issued for most Uptown neighborhoods

New Orleans, La. - Sewerage and Water Board and the State Department of Health and Hospital officials have issued a boil water advisory in most Uptown neighborhoods due to Tuesday morning's water main break that occurred in the 7800 block of Cohn Street.

According to officials, residents in the following area are affected: South Carrollton Avenue from Maple Street to the river; Maple Street to Loyola Street; Loyola Street to Jackson Avenue and Jackson Avenue to the river.

Officials say to bring the water to a rolling boil and boil the water for at least one minute. The Sewerage and Water Board will notify residents when the advisory is lifted.
