NFL policy changes for fans entering Superdome

New Orleans, La. - Even in the intense heat, 2,613 die-hards came decked out in their favorite Saints gear to get a first-hand look at their team.

The excitement is building. Most fans say it's about seeing head coach Sean Payton again, plus their favorite quarterback.

"Drew Brees is the captain of the NFL," says Daphne Fleming.

"Sean Payton and Drew Brees are the perfect pair," says Katie Cavanagh.

The first pre-season game against the Kansas City Chiefs in the Merecedes-Benz Superdome is just two weeks away.

Fans are ready, but there's been some NFL policy changes everyone should know about.

"The NFL has implemented a league wide policy restricting the type of bags that can enter the stadium," says Superdome spokesman Eric Eagan.

A Ziploc-type bag is acceptable, along with a small type of purse, but it can't be any larger than your hand.

It's believed the new policy will actually expedite fan entry into the Dome. "Because the screener, rather than have to open up your dark bag and look inside, they can easily see if you're carrying any prohibited items," says Eagan.

Fans who gather in Champions Square will also see some changes this season. The Superdome says food trucks from all over New Orleans will be parked in the square serving food and drinks to fans.

Brandon Coleman lost two fumbles inside the Jets 30-yard line. Drew Brees threw an interception inside the Saints own 20. The Black and Gold lost offensive guard Larry Warford with a concussion right before half. All off these negatives, and the Saints still beat the Jets, 24-19. The Jets came into the contest with a 5-8 record, and played without their starting quarterback.
