Man killed after crashing stolen ATV

Edgard, La. - A Luling man has died after crashing a stolen ATV.

Louisiana State Police responded to an area near Amp Circle in Edgard around 6:30 Tuesday night.

Police say 20 year-old Ronnie Brown exited a trailer park and drove onto a grassy patch, then hit a utility pole's support before crashing into a tree.

Brown was not wearing a helmet and was ejected from the ATV when it struck the tree. He was transported to St. John Hospital where he died from his injuries sustained in the crash.

Investigators say the ATV had been reported stolen out of St. Charles Parish.

It's not clear if Brown was aware that the ATV was stolen.

Alcohol use is not suspected to be a factor in the crash, but routine toxicology tests are pending.

This crash remains under investigation.
