RENO, Nev. (AP) - A 21-year-old woman in Nevada has given birth to a boy on a Subway restaurant's restroom floor, where managers quickly placed sandwich wrappers and trash bags for sanitation before the baby was born.

Assistant manager Flora Vargas says the woman entered the restaurant Friday in Minden, 40 miles south of Reno, about 9:30 a.m., screamed she was in labor and raced for the women's restroom.

Vargas says the woman gave birth within several minutes of coming into the business, and it was a relief that both the mother and baby appeared healthy after the birth.

Vargas says it was fortunate that paramedics arrived immediately after the birth.

Paramedics took the mother and baby to Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center.
