Family releases funeral plans for St. Charles Parish deputy

Luling, La. - Funeral services for a longtime St. Charles Parish sheriff's deputy will include a public vigil.

Deputy Jeff Watson was killed in the line of duty on Sunday, August 4th. He died in a head-on collision while responding to a 911 call in Luling.

The funeral will take place Friday, August 9th, at Muhleisen & Son Funeral Home at 2607 Williams Blvd. in Kenner. Visitation will take place from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m., followed by a service.

On Thursday night, August 8th, the public is invited to attend a 9 p.m. candlelight vigil at the St. Charles sheriff's office headquarters, located at 260 Edward Dufrensne Parkway in Luling.

Interment will take place in Jefferson Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Saint Rose.

In lieu of usual remembrances, members of the sheriff's department have asked the public to please consider a donation to the Deputy Jeff Watson Memorial Fund at any branch of Capitol One.
