The Saints went to work Sunday with an emphasis on cleaning up some of the messes made in Friday's win over Kansas City.
Special teams were a major focus. More time was spent on this Sunday than in any other practice. Coach Payton and Joe Vitt spent much more time eyeballing each drill as well.
Clearly they were not happy with the results of Friday's coverage units, and rightfully so. The Saints gave up more yards in the return game than they did on defense.
Play of the Day
The Saints didn't do a whole lot of team drills Sunday, but when they did, Steve Breaston made a great catch on a deep out route thrown by Ryan Griffin.
- A lot of big names were held out of Sunday's workout. Junior Galette, Marques Colston, Pierre Thomas, Jonathan Vilma and Martez Wilson were all held out. Payton said Galette will likely miss Monday's practice.
- Eric Olsen and Ray Shipman were also held out.
- As he did in Friday's game, Marcel Jones got a lot of work at guard.
