32 dead dogs found in Arabi man's freezer

Arabi, La. - 32 dead puppies and dogs were found Wednesday in a freezer inside a home in Arabi, according to a spokeman with the St. Bernard Sheriff's Office.

29 puppies and three adult dogs were found in 52 year-old Juan Toledo's home in the 300 block of Parish Drive.

Toledo claims the dogs died naturally and he had not gotten around to burying them yet.

Police said there were no obvious wounds or markings on the dogs that would indicate abuse.

No living animals were found at the house. The remains of the dogs were turned over to animal control.

Toledo was booked with 32 counts of aggravated cruelty to animals.
