Man wanted for kidnapping and battery at a New Orleans hotel turns himself in

New Orleans -- A man wanted for multiple charges including second degree battery and kidnapping, has turned himself in to police. Elvin Terrell,35, turned himself in to the NOPD, Saturday evening. Terrell was wanted for a violent domestic attack and kidnapping that took place at a hotel in the 300 block of Loyola Avenue at 4:50 a.m. Friday. 

Police say that officers responded to a call of a domestic dispute in the hotel's lobby. Detectives reviewed surveillance footage that showed Terrell and a woman involved in an argument that turned physical. Terrell was shown putting the woman in a car and driving away. Officers located a six-year-old boy in a room rented by one of the individuals involved in the incident. The child was not harmed and is in good health and protective custody at this time.

According to police, detectives have made contact with a woman who says that she is the child's mother, but detectives cannot confirm if the woman is indeed the mother.

Terrell will be charged one count of second degree battery, one count of domestic kidnapping, one count of child desertion and child endangering and one count of cruelty to a juvenile.
