Series of lane, ramp closures planned for I-10

Metairie, La. - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announced the following lane and ramp closures in Metairie:

• Monday, August 19: The left lane of I-10 westbound, between Clearview Parkway and Veterans Memorial Boulevard, will be closed from 9:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. The closure will allow crews to remove the temporary barrier wall from the project site.

• Tuesday, August 20: The right lane of I-10 westbound, between Clearview Parkway and Veterans Memorial Boulevard, and the Veterans Memorial Boulevard exit ramp (Exit 225) will be closed from 9:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. The closure will allow crews to move construction equipment. Drivers may use Power Boulevard (Exit 224) as an alternate route.

• Wednesday, August 21 - Friday, August 23: The on-ramp from Veterans Memorial Boulevard to I-10 eastbound will be closed from 9:30 p.m. until 5:30 a.m. This closure will allow crews to set panels for the construction of the sound wall barriers. Drivers may access I-10 eastbound at Clearview Parkway as an alternate route

All planned construction activities are weather-dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of bad weather.

Geaux Wider NOLA is a multi-year construction initiative to widen Interstate 10 from six to 10 lanes between Clearview Parkway and Veterans Memorial Boulevard. The project is designed to increase capacity, improve safety and enhance mobility on this heavily traveled segment of I-10 in Jefferson Parish.
