Man found shot to death in Kenner home

New Orleans, La. -

Kenner police are pursuing a homicide investigation after they found a man shot to death in his home.

FOX 8 received this news release from the Kenner Police Dept. Thursday night:

The Kenner Police Department is presently investigating an apparent homicide that occurred earlier in the 2100 block of 21st Street, in Kenner.

At approximately 3:39 p.m., (Thursday, August 22, 2013), the Kenner Police Department received a 9-1-1 telephone call reporting a possible death. Officers responding to the location discovered a deceased male, 23 years old, inside a home in the 2100 block of 21st Street, in Kenner. It appears the victim has been deceased for several days.

An initial examination of the body revealed the victim had been shot more than one time. Although the death has not been classified by the Coroner's Officer pending autopsy on Friday, August 23, 2013, the Kenner Police Department is working this death as a homicide investigation.

The identity of the victim will be released once family notifications are made. Information received revealed the victim's parents are both incarcerated and will have to be notified of the death through a prison Chaplin.
